Farmer's Almanac

This speculative world building project investigates the possibility of a temporary vertical garden that appears four times a year on campus. Each planned date for the installation corresponds directly to the dates of the solstice and equinoxes each year. Weather symbols from the Federal Aviation Administration’s Aviation Present Weather Table were studied and related to the average weather pattern in Auburn, Alabama for each season. Data from the Lee County weather station for the FAA was collected to ensure accuracy of weather phenomena. The Old Farmer’s Almanac was also studied to acquire data about solstices and full moons as they relate to the planting seasons in Auburn. This immersive virtual reality experience was created using Adobe Aero and can be accessed anywhere by scanning the associated QR code.
